Under-18 players: parents and carers

- Under-18s are only in the team WhatsApp group with their parent or carer's permission, or with their parent or carer in the same chat.
- We don't publish an under-18 player's name, age or photo on this website until a parent or carer has agreed.
Read our privacy notice to see how we look after players' information.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Everyone involved with Eastside Athletic FC represents the club, on and off the pitch. By joining the club, players, officials and parents or carers of under-18 players agree to follow this code. It is based on the FA's Respect codes of conduct.
Players
- Play fairly and within the Laws of the Game.
- Respect the referee and assistant referees. Only the captain speaks to the referee, and always calmly.
- Respect opponents, team-mates, managers and spectators. Shake hands before and after every game, win or lose.
- No abusive, threatening, offensive or discriminatory language or behaviour, including on social media and in group chats.
- Reply to every Spond event on time, turn up when you say you will, and tell a manager as early as possible if you can't.
- Pay your registration, match and training fees on time.
- Look after the club's kit, equipment and the facilities we use, and leave changing rooms as you found them.
- Never play under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Managers and officials
- Put players' safety and wellbeing first.
- Lead by example: respect referees, opponents and spectators at all times.
- Treat every player fairly and explain selection decisions honestly.
- Follow the FA's safeguarding guidance. Never message an under-18 player one-to-one; include their parent or carer, or another official.
- Keep players' personal information private and only use it to run the club.
- Report any welfare concern to the Club Welfare Officer straight away.
Parents, carers and spectators
- Support positively. Applaud good play from both teams.
- Respect the referee's decisions, and never shout at or approach match officials.
- Stay behind the barrier or touchline and leave coaching to the managers.
- No abusive, offensive or discriminatory language or behaviour.
- Parents and carers of under-18 players: keep the club up to date with your contact details and any changes to your consent.
If the code is broken
The club committee will deal with any breach fairly. Depending on how serious it is, action can include a warning, being left out of selection, paying any fine the club receives because of your behaviour, suspension, or being asked to leave the club. Serious incidents may be reported to the FA or the police.
Any discriminatory behaviour is treated as serious, and we will always act on it.
